Yazaemon Kido (城戸 弥左衛門; きど やざえもん) was a real Iga Ninja from Japan's Warring States Period. He appears in the online series Pure Heart: Ninjutsu Chronicle.
Creation and Concept/Historical Records[]
Ninja records state that Yazaemon Kido is known for two sniping attempts on Nobunaga Oda[1]. He made have been a possible follower of the Ikkō. In Seishin, he is made a friendly rival for Zenjubo Sugitani.

- Has a hatred for Nobunaga Oda for his aggression towards the Ikko-Ikki, and for attacking and destroying the Nagashima fortress. Further magnified @ Iga Ran.

- A well-known firearms user, Kido highly excels in Kayakujutsu or the art of gunpowder or explosives. This makes him skilled in creating explosive items, such as egg shells and boxes, for diversions and sometimes destroying property. He passes on his skills to his nephew Yoshizo, who is also well-versed in using explosive tools and has an special ferrocerium-like ability. Teppoujutsu means gun or rifle art, and is a part of Bukijutsu (武器術).

- (五遁の術) Goton are the five Evasion Arts, but Kido seems to be well known for utilizing Katon no jutsu (火遁), which is the use of gunpowder to create smoke and deceive the eyes of others.
- Yōgenpō
- (鷹眼法; hawk's eye) Supposed paranormal ability. Said to be like a cat, and he can see well in the darkest of nights. Said to have acquired it from long stays around enemy castles and during assassination missions.
